Acer is launching a new 7.9-inch tablet with quad-core processor, the Iconia A1-810. With such a screen size, the device is probably intended to compete with Apple’s iPad mini. Its 7.9-inch touchscreen has a 1024×768 resolution, same as Apple’s mini tablet. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software on a quad-core processor.
Given its affordable Euro 199 price tag, it is not surprise to find that the quad-core processor inside the A1-810 is made by MediaTek. The chip runs at 1.2GHz clock speed. The tablet packs 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. There are a 5 Megapixel main camera and a VGA front-facing camera. You can expect WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS connectivity and a HDMI output connectors. A microSD card slot is available for expansion.
