Pioneer introduces the DDJ-SX, the industry’s first 4-channel performance DJ controller for Serato DJ software. The controller utilizes Serato software as the basis for its control layout and ergonomic design and has a pro-level build quality. It also gets a larger jog wheel for previse mixing and scratching.
The DDJ-SX has 8 soft-touch rubber performance controller/trigger pads per deck for four different functionalities – HOT CUE, ROLL, SLICER and SAMPLER, and each of them illuminates in blue to enable users to quickly tap for each effect. It supports Dual Deck controller for controlling two tracks at the same time, Slip Mode that silently continues song playback during a performance loop, scratch or hot cue and resumes audible playback when the loop, scratch, or hot cue operation is ended. It also includes Multi FX mode for applying multiple effects at the same time, and Single FX mode that allows a single effect to be controlled with numerous parameters. You can set up to 8 cue points for each track.
The Pioneer DDJ-SX is equipped with low-jitter clock and high-performance digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for accurate audio playback and has built-in sound card. There is also Adjustable Cross-fader Curve to suit any type of mixing style. The controller also features an independent 4-channel mixer that can be used with other external sources such as turntables. It gets an aluminum top panel and a brushed aluminum finish for the jog wheels.
As a controller for Serato, the Pioneer DDJ-SX, of course, comes bundles with the Serato DJ software. It will be released in November for $1199.
