Pioneer expands its high-end Elite line with three new THX-certified 9.2-channel audio/video receivers. The most notable model is the SC-79 that comes with support for HDBaseT standard, which allows uncompressed high definition video and audio to be delivered over a single CAT5e/6 Ethernet cable, making multi-zone set-up easy. All three receivers are able to play to four zones at the same time.
All these Elite receivers feature Class D3 amplification, THX Select2 Plus Certification, 4K Ultra HD Upscaling and are equipped with ESS SABRE 32 Ultra DAC and 192 kHz/32-bit audio scaler. The SC-77 and SC-79 are also Air Studio Monitor certified, and the SC-79 also packs a USB 32-Bit Asynchronous Audio DAC for direction connection to Windows or Mac computers. They also support AirPlay for wireless streaming from iOS devices and PC/Mac with iTunes, and MHL 2.0 for playback of video and audio content from Android smartphones. The price is $1600 for SC-75, $2000 for SC-77 and $3000 for SC-79.
