Acer is launching the new Iconia W700 series of Windows 8 tablet PCs. Coming on 26 October, following the launch of Windows 8, the 11.6-inch tablet is powered by Intel’s Core i3 or i5 processor, integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 and 4GB of RAM. The new Iconia gets a 11.6-inch Full HD 1920×1080 LED-backlit touchscreen with 10-point multitouch.
The Windows 8 Iconia tablet sports a 5 Megapixel Hmain camera with auto focus and Full HD video recording and a 720p HD front-facing camera. It also includes Dolby Home Theater v4 to boost sound for headphones and built-in speakers. The tablet supports Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11n and has a USB 3.0 port. It comes with a multifunctional cradle that can be tilted up to 70 degrees for enhanced viewing, or 20 degrees for convenient touch or vertically in portrait mode for easy browsing and reading. The cradle also adds three USB 3.0 ports. Also bundled are a Bluetooth keyboard and a microHDMI to VGA adapter for quick and easy connection to a monitor or projector.
The Iconia W700 comes in three models. The $799.99 W700-6607 with Core i3-3317U, 64GB SSD; the $899.99 W700-6691 with Core i5-3317U and 64GB SSD, and the $999.99 W700-6465 with Core i5-3317U and 128GB SSD.
