Pioneer launches in Japan the BDR-XD04 , the world’s smallest and lightest portable BDXL burner. Measuring W133 mm x H14.8 mm x D133 mm, the drive weighs just 240g. It uses USB 2.0 interface and is bus-powered. With support for BDXL, the drive writes not only single layer and dual layer BD-R discs but also triple and quad-layer discs. It has 4MB buffer memory.
The BDR-XD04 writes BD-R and BD-R DL at up to 6x, BD-R TL/QL at 4x, BD-RE/RE DL/RE TL at 2x; and is also capable of recording to DVD media at up to 8x and CD-R/RW at 24x. It features PURE READ2+ to improve accuracy of reading audio CDs. It comes with Cyberlink’s software suite including PowerDVD10, PowerDriector 8, Power2Go 7, InstantBurn 5.
The Pioneer BDR-XD04 is available in wine red, pearl white and black for about 15,000 Yen.
