Pioneer introduces the BDR-2207, a powerful, full-featured internal optical drive that reads and writes to almost all disc formats, including the BDXL. Supporting the BDXL format, the drive can and write to BD-R and BD-RE Triple Layer (TL) 100GB media and BD-R Quad Layer (QL) 128GB media, and of couese conventional single and double layer recordable Blu-ray discs.
The BDR-2207 burns BD-R SL/DL at up to 12x, BD-R TL/QL at 6x and BD-RW SL/DL/TL at 2x. It also records DVD+/-R at 16x, DVD+/-R DL at 8x, DVD+RW at 8x, DVD-RW at 6x as well as CD-R and CD-RW at up to 40x. The powerful disc burner features PowerRead to provide smoother movie playback for discs marked with fingerprints or with minor surface scratches; PureRead2 to prevent clicking or poping sound; Auto Quiet Mode that minimize operating noise; and Peak Power Reducer that can reduce the drive’s peak power to ensure stable operation. There is also QuickStart that reduces the time between inserting a disc and that disc being ready by 40%.
The Pioneer BDR-2207 uses SATA interface and has 4MB data buffer. Using the bundled CyberLink software (PowerDVD 10 BD3D, PowerDirector 9 and Power2Go 7), users can enjoy not just standard Blu-ray but also 3D Blu-ray titles, and create HD Blu-ray discs and DVD discs.
