Toshiba has announced its Blade X-gale series high capacity SSD solid-state storage with a new thin, blade-shaped form factor, which is just like what we see in the latest Macbook Air. With slimmer and more space-saving form factor, the Blade X-gale allows notebook/netbook/tablet PC makers to create thinner and smaller products with bigger and faster storage.
Toshiba’s Blade X-gale is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities. It uses SATA 3Gbps interface and offers up to 220MB/s read and 180MB/s write speeds. The blade-shaped drive is only 2.2mm thick, 42% thinner than that of a typical mSATA form factor, and Toshiba’s advanced wiring technology has assured optimized wiring layouts and data transfer rates in this new form factor.
