Pioneer Elite G-Clef PD-D6MK2
Pioneer announced two new CD/SACD players in its Elite G-Clef line, the PD-D6MK2 and the PD-D9MK2. The former gets Twin Burr-Brown D/A convert while the latter packs Twin Wolfson D/A converter.
These G-Clef CD players feature the Legato Link Conversion PRO that utilizes complex algorithms to recreate the ultra-high harmonics lost in the digital conversion process resulting in smooth, natural sound; and the Hi-Bit technology to increase the sound data length from 16-bit to 24-bit to provide clear, rich audio, even from compressed MP3 files.

The PD-D9MK2 sports a Honeycomb Chassis design, which contains hexagon shaped imprints in the metal plates that help to dissipate vibrations and alleviate jitter; a rigid under-base construction, TAOC Hi-Carbon composite metal feet and a full aluminum casing. The PD-D6MK2 has an aluminum front panel. Both of them have glossy black finish with blue LCD display.
Coming in October, Pioneer’s PD-D6MK2 and PD-D9MK2 are priced at $700 and $1500 respectively.
