Toshiba introduces two new Satellite notebooks with Windows 7 and touchscreen display, the Satellite M505 Touch (M505-S4990-T) and the Satellite U505 Touch (U505-S2980-T). Both get a touch display and Windows 7 Home Premium bringing Windows Touch-enabled functionality.
Toshiba’s new notebooks will come with the Toshiba LifeSpace, which includes two touch-enabled applications: the Bulletin Board for organizing projects, tasks and the RealTime for users to easily find files based on when they were opened with a simple, fun visual history.
The configurations of the M505 Touch and U505 Touch are more or less the same. They are boosted by an Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2GHz processor, 4GB of DDR2 RAM and Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics. They pack a 500GB hard drive, a slot-loading DVD SuperMulti drive with Labelflash, 5-in-1 Memory Card Reader, an eSATA/USB combo port and a 6-cell battery. The M505 gets a 14-inch touch display while the U505 has a 13.3-inch screen.
These touchscreen notebooks support Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connection. They offer HDMI port and include webcam and microphone. The Satellite M505 Touch (M505-S4990-T) will be available on Ocotber for $949.99 while the Satellite U505 Touch (U505-S2980-T) on 1 November for $1049.99.
