Philips introduces at the IFA the new 2009 Aurea (aka Aurea third generation or Aurea III) HDTV with LED edge-lighting technology, a follow-up to the Aurea II. The new Aurea 2009 includes the Ambilight Active Frame that uses over 250 LEDs to create a multi-colored frame of light around the screen and extending onto the wall.
Philips Aurea series HDTV has 1920x1080p Full HD resolution, LED backlight, 100Hz/120Hz Clear LCD, 2ms response time, Perfect Colors with 17-bit Color Booster technology that pumps out a mesmerizing 2,250 trillion colors and Perfect Natural Motion technology. Aurea is also equipped with 2009 version of Perfect Pixel HD Engine.
Philips 2009 Aurea includes also Net TV feature for accessing online content via Ethernet LAN or built-in WiFi connectivity and comes with an integrated DVB-T/DVB-C/CI+ HDTV receiver. You can also expect 2x15W invisible speakers and five HDMI 1.3a EasyLink inputs. The new Aurea III will get an iconic pearl remote control with slider and backlight. Currently, a 40-inch model (40PFL9904H) is available.
