Apple announced a new AirPort Extreme Base Station with support for Draft 802.11n wireless standard. For greater data throughput and extended wireless range, Apple’s new router features MIMO (Multiple In Multiple Out) smart antennas as well. With a similar to Apple TV, the device works with both Mac and PC.
The new AirPort Extreme is backward compatible with 802.11a/b/g and it provides a a RJ-45 10/100BASE-T Ethernet WAN port and three RJ-45 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN ports. It provides Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA/WPA-2) security, 128-bit WEP encryption, and a built-in NAT firewall. There is also an USB port for connecting a printer or external storage device to your home network.
