JVC announced the HD Everio GZ-HD7 which is the first consumer camcorder capable of Full HD 1920×1080 video recording. Utilizing 16:9 Progressive Scan 3-CCD system and a a Fujinon lens used in broadcast video cameras, JVC’s new camcorder is built to deliver superior color reproduction in high-definition.
The CCD sensor of the camcorder has a aspect of 16:9 for HD recording while the broadcast-grade Fujinon lens has a minimal F1.8 for wide angle and F1.9 for telephoto. To produce high quality HD resolution, the analog front end (AFD) uses 14-bit signal processing.
The GZ-HD7 comes with a 60GB for HD recording. It offers HDMI output, USB 2.0 and iLink IEEE 1394 connections. Coming in April, the price is $1799.95.
