HTC has announced Taiwan its Butterfly S flagship Android smartphone, follow-up to the J Butterfly. Based on the same stylish design as J Butterfly, the new model includes many features first introduced on the HTC One, including the front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers. You can find the same 5-inch Full HD touchscreen.
The new Butterfly sports HTC’s UltraPixel camera with F2.0 aperture and outstanding low-light performance, and a 2.1 Megapixel front-facing camera with 88-degree wide angle. Both of them are capable of Full HD video recording, and the phone comes with HTC Zoe dynamic photo album. The 5-incher is powered by a Qualcomm SnapDragon 600 processor running at 1.9GHz, which is slightly faster than the One. It gets 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. Surprisingly, there is a microSD card slot for expansion.
The Butterfly S comes with a 3200mAh battery for extended battery life. It supports GPS/GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, DLNA, NFC, MHL connectivity. 4G LTE support is not included, however. HTC is planning to release the phone in select Asia Pacific markets in July.
