Back in March, Pentax launched its WG-3 and WG-3 GPS ruggedized digital cameras and the company is now adding a new white WG-3 to the lineup. With a ‘heavy-duty’ construction, the WG-3 is waterproof to 45 feet, shockproof to withstand drops from up to 6.6 feet, dustproof and coldproof. It is also able to bear up to 22 pounds of pressure.
The rugged camera sports a 16 Megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor and a 4x optical zoom lens with F.20 aperture and 25mm wide angle. You can expect dual anti-shake protection for capturing blur-free images and there are 6 LED Macro lights to help close up shooting. Full HD video is recorded in H.264 format and a micro HDMI output is provided.
Pentax’s new rugged camera has a 3-inch LCD display and the GPS model adds GPS geotagging function and support for Qi wireless charging. WG-3 is priced at $299.95. Other than the new white version, you can also find black and orange models. The WG-3 GPS comes in green and purple.
