Toshiba adds to its Canvio line of portable hard drive the new Canvio Connect with remote access and sharing capability. While the drive doesn’t have built-in wireless capability, the pre-loaded Pogoplug PC software allows users to access the all your files, photos, music and movies on the Canvio Connect (as well as your PC) remotely on any Internet-connected computer, smartphone or tablet anywhere, anytime. It also comes with 10GB of free cloud storage space for you to store important files.
The pocket-sized Canvio Connect drive uses USB 3.0 interface for enhanced transfer rate and operates at 5400RPM. You can secure your files with password-protected data encryption up to 256-bit. The drive comes pre-formatted NTFS for Windows PC and comes with a NTFS driver for Mac.
Toshiba’s new drive available in 500GB, 750GB, 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB capacities, which are priced at $99, $109.99, $129.99, $169.99 and $189.99, respectively. It comes in black, silver, blue, red and white colors.
