Silicon Power expands its SSD range with two new models, the Velox V55 and the Slim S55. Both of them use SATA III 6Gbps interface for high-speed data transfer and are backward compatible with SATA II 3Gbps. Claimed to be the “Smartest Choice for System Upgrade”, the V55 comes in 9mm form factor for installing in desktop PC and the S55 has a slimmer 7mm thickness for upgrading Ultrabooks or slim notebooks. They both have a sleek aluminum case.

The 2.5-inch Velox V55 and Slim S55 both feature a read speed up to 550MB/s and write speed up to 440MB/s. They support TRIM command, Garbage Collection technology, ECC technology for data integrity, and S.M.A.R.T. monitoring system. Both models are available in 60GB, 120GB and 240GB capacities.
