FujiFilm updates its rugged XP Series with a new four-proof model, the FinePix XP200 with WiFi connectivity. As the sucessor to last year’s XP170, the XP200 gets tougher that it is waterproof to 50 feet/15 meters (10 meters for XP170), shockproof to 6.6 feet/2 meters, freezeproof to 14°F (-10°C) and Dustproof. It also has a new design with and a redesigned battery satety lock with double seals for enhanced protection. The grip keeps it on your hand, if you are wearing ski gloves.
The 16 Megapixel XP200 camera sports a 5x optical zoom FUJINON lens and features CMOS-shift image stabilization to capture blur-free and clear images. With Intelligent Digital Zoom, the zoom range can be doubled to 10x. As a camera for outdoor enthusiast and active users to capture fast shots and adventurous shots, the XP200 supports 10fps high-speed continous shooting at full resolution or up to 60fps at a lower resolution. Moreover, its dedicated Burst Mode button lets users capture the action instantly with just a simple press.
The rugged shooter is capable of Full HD video recording and features in-camera movie editing. There is also a High-speed Movie mode for capturing action at up to 360fps. To make shooting easier and fun, it includes Scene Recognition Auto mode that will detect the scene and selects the best settings, Motion Panorama 360 for capturing panorama shot, HDR mode, as well as 7 Advanced Filters for users to add creative touch to photos. There is also Individual Shutter 3D mode that combines two shots taken from slightly different angles to create images with a 3D effect.
Like the XP170, the new XP200 comes with built-in WiFi connectivity for wireless image transfer to iPhone, iPad or Android smartphones or tablet running the free FujiFilm Camera Application. You can use the app to browse photos and videos on the camera as well. To backup photos wirelessly to your PC, you need to install the free FujiFilm PC AutoSave software.
