Following the S6300 last February and the S6400 in August, Nikon brought to the CES the newest CoolPix S6500. The new model shares same features as the S6400 and adds wireless connectivity and five new Glamor Retouch effects. The stylish, slim and compact camera also packs a high-power zoom lens.
With built-in WIFi connectivity, users can easily share and transfer photos and videos with friends and family easily by sending them directly from the camera to a smartphone or tablet with Wireless Mobile Utility application. Nikon’s new S6500 is equipped with a 16 Megapixel backside illumination CMOS image sensor and a 12x optical zoom 25mm wide angle NIKKON lens with lens-shift vibration reduction function to reduce the effect of camera shake, delivering clear and blur-free images. The camera is capable of Full HD 1080p video recording, and high-speed continous shooting at up to 7fps. Other features include Target Finding AF, Smile Timer with Continuous, Best Shot Selector, Scene Auto Selector and Face Priority AF.
Nikon also adds five new Glamour Retouch effects for portrait, including Brighten Face that lightens skin tones, Reduce Dark Circles that lightens the effects of dark color under a person’s eye, as well as Whiten Eyes, Whiten Teeth and Redden Cheeks. The S6500 has a 3-inch LCD display and HDMI output. Coming in late January, Nikon S6500 will be available for $219.95 in silver, black, red and orange colors.
