JBL, a Harman brand, introduces two new OnBeat speaker docks with Lightning connector for use with Apple’s latest iPod models, iPhone, iPad 4 and iPad mini. The OnBeat Micro is a portable, battery-powered dock ideal for road warriors, and the OnBeat Venue LT is tabletop speaker dock designed to deliver great sound. Both of them use Apple’s new smaller, reversible digital Lightning connector.
The OnBeat Micro is ultraportable speaker dock that fits easily into a backpack or briefcase. It is equipped with two full-range transducers and digital signal processing to generate big audio with great bass from a compact speaker. The speaker offers up to 5 hours of playback when used with batteries, and it can charge docked iPhone 5, iPod touch 5th gen and iPad nano 7th gen when it is used with the included AC adapter. In addition to the Lightning dock, the speaker also has a USB port and a 3.5mm input jack to power and play other mobile devices. Users can use the free JBL music app to create customized playlists, adjust volume and browse album artwork.
The OnBeat Venue LT (aka Venue Lightning) is a tabletop speaker dock that plays and charges not just iPhone 5 and new iPods, but also iPad mini and the new iPad 4. Other than playback from docked iOS devices, the speaker also features Bluetooth support for wireless streaming from Bluetooth-enabled devices. The Venue LT features 30 watts of amplifier power and includes TrueStream Technology to ensure high-quality wireless sound, and Slipstream port technology to provide poweful bass with low distortion. If your audio devices doesn’t support Bluetooth, you can still use the 3.5mm jack to enjoy the speaker’s great sound.
JBL’s OnBeat Micro and OnBeat Venue LT are priced at $99 and $199, respectively.
