British speaker maker Bowers & Wilkins is back with the new Z2 wireless music system with AirPlay and Lightning connector. Other than streaming music wirelessly from iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and iTunes on a networked PC or Mac computer, you can also dock your iPhone 5 or iPod nano 7 to the Lightning dock for direct music playback.
The compact Z2 is built to deliver a natural, detailed sound performance. With two 3.5-inch full range drive units and D-class amplifier, the speaker delivers 20Wx2 power output. The Flowport technology makes sure bass performance is tight and controlled. The AirPlay speaker connects to a network via Ethernet LAN port or WiFi. It is housed in a rigid glass-reinforced ABS enclosure and comes in black and white finishes.
Also announced is updated version of Zeppelin Air that gets the new Lightning connector for iPhone 5 connectivity. It offers the same room-filling audio performance of the original one.
Priced at $399, the black version of the Z2 will ship in April and white version in June. The new Zeppelin Air will be available in May for $599.99.
