Silicon Power introduces its new Slim S60 and S70 series of 7mm height solid state drives for ultra slim notebooks. With a 7mm form factor, the 2.5-inch SSDs are ideal for use on latest slim notebooks including the Ultrabooks. They both get an stylish and slim aluminum metal body.
The S60 is designed to offer high performance at an affordable pricing while the S70 is a higher-end line with optimized performance. Both of them use SATA III inteface to deliver fast speeds. The S60 offers up to 550MB/s read and 500MB/s write speeds. The S70 is equipped with SandForce SF-2281 controller with synchronous NAND flash and optimized firmware. It delivers data transfer rates at 557MB/s for read and 507MB/s for write. Both S60 and S70 feature DuraWrite and wear leveling for extended endurance, TRIM command, Garbage Collection technology and built-in SMART monitoring system.
Silicon Power’s Slim S60 and S70 come in 60GB, 120GB, 240GB and 480GB capacities.
