We’ve seen quite a lot of PCI-Express SSDs before, but what Samsung announced today is the first PCI-E SSD designed specially for next-gen Ultrabooks. The Korean company has just began mass production of its new XP941, which comes in the new M2 form factor (80x20mm) and weighs just 6 grams.
Small yet performing. The XP941 features up to 1,400MB/s sequential read speed that Samsung said is capable of reading 500GB of data in only six minutes, or 10 HD movies at 5GB in 36 seconds. The SSD is available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities.
