Alongside the iPhone 5, Apple also introduces the fifth generation of iPod touch. Featuring an ultra-thin and light anodized aluminum body measuring just 6mm thin, the new iPod touch is the thinnest iPod touch. Also, for the first time, the iPod touch will come in five vibrant colors, including pink, yellow, blue, white/silver, black/slate. Like the iPhone 5, the new iPod touch features a 4-inch Retina touchscreen with 1136×640 and 326ppi resolution and supports dual-band WiFi 802.11n.
The iPod touch 5th gen is powered by Apple’s dual-core A5 processor for twice the processing power and up to seven times faster graphics than the fourth generation iPod touch. It comes with iOS 6 and features Siri intelligent assistant. You can also find iCloud, iMessage, Face Time and AirPlay Mirroring. The iPod touch comes with a 5 Megapixel iSight camera with auto focus, 1080p Full HD video recording with video image stabilization, face detection and an LED flash. It is also capable of panorama shooting. There is also a front-facing 1.2 Megapixel FaceTime camera with 720p HD video recording. The iPod touch supports Bluetooth 4.0 and comes with Nike+ support built-in.
A color-matched iPod touch loop wrist strap is included with every iPod touch 5th gen, which can be attached to the silver button on the back of the iPod, keeping the player safe. Of course, the new iPod will use the smaller Lightning connector and come with the new Apple EarPods headphones. Coming on 14 September, the price is $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB. Apple will keep the iPod touch 4th in the lineup, which will be available in white and black for $199 in a 16GB model and $249 in a 32GB model.
