Following the X-Pro1, FujiFilm updates its X-series with the new X-E1 interchangeable lens digital camera.With a compact, travel friendly size that is 30% smaller than the X-Pro1, the new X-E1 uses elegant and premium components and its top and front covers made from die-cast magnesium for a solid, yet functional design. The rubber grip also provides additional stability. The camera uses the same 16.3 Megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOs sensor and the same X-Mount for use with Fujinon XF lenses.
FujiFilm’s new X-series camera offers quick response, including 0.5 second quick start, 0.0.5 second shutter time lag, 0.1 second auto focus so you will never miss a shot. It is also capable of 6fps high-speed continuous shooting. The X-E1 offers Selectable AF with a 49-point Metering Matrix, ISO 100-25600 sensitivity, PASM shooting modes, Motion Panorama. It also features the Film Simulation Modes, including Velvia, ASTIA, PROVIA, Monochrome, Sepia, PRO Neg.Std & PRO Neg.Hi, to simulate the distinctive color palates of conventional photo film.
The X-E1 comes with a 2.36 million dot high luminance OLED viewfinder with horizontal field of view of 25-degrees that allows users to scan the entire scene quickly and easily. It also has a 2.8-inch LCD display. The camera has in-camera RAW converter. It is capable of Full HD 1920×1080 video recording at 24 fps. The X-E1, comes in two-tone black and silver or a solid black designs, is priced at $999.95 for body only or $1399.95 for the kit set with XF18mm-55mm (27-84mm) F2.8-4 lens. Coming in November, FujiFilm will also release leather halg case, M Mount adapter, protector filters along with the camera.
