Following the S1 and S2, Sony is back to the tablet market using the Xperia brand, introducing the Xperia Tablet S. Measuring 9.2mm slim, the tablet has a slim and light aluminum body. Like the S1, has a off-center of gravity design for stability and ease of grip. The new Xperia tablet keeps the IR sensor and doubles as a univeral remote control, allowing users to turn on/off and control their home media devices including HDTV, Blu-ray player and audio system. It comes with a splash proof design and an IPX4 splashproof rating to withstand splashing water at all angles.
The Xperia Tablet S is powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor for smooth operatin and features Sony’s Quick Touch and Quick View technologies for enhanced performance. It features a 9.4-inch HD touchscreen display with OptiContrast panel with low-friction coating, and a 8 Megapixel auto focus camera and a front-facing 1 Megapixel camera for video chat. Sony also adds its original technologies, including S-Master Digital Amplifier, S-Force Front Surround, xLOUD and Clear Phase, to deliver rich, dynamic sound and 3D surround sound.
The Xperia Android tablet supports Bluetooth, WiFi as well as DLNA and HDMI output. It comes pre-loaded with Walkman music app and Sony Entertainment Network Services for movie and music streaming. The Xperia Tablet S is available in 7 September in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities, which are available for $399, $499 and $599 respectively.
