NEC introduces two Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) compliant computers for seamless integration with select NEC large-screen displays and multimedia projectors. Both OPS-PCIC-5WH and OPS-PCIC-5WS are powered by Intel Sandy Bridge Core i5 2.5Ghz processor and 2GB of RAM. The former comes with 250GB hard drive and the latter has a 32GB SSD. They both run Windows 7 Embedded.
NEC’s OPS computers have integrated Ethernet connection, four USB ports and a DisplayPort. These internal PCs supports multiple video formats and Full HD conent at 1080p. According to NEC, they are targeted for use with digital signage in airports, quick-service restaurants, education, rental and staging, corporate lobbies, healthcare facilities and retail stores.
The OPS-PCIC-5WH and OPS-PCIC-5WS will be released in July starting at $1200.
