NEC will release in August its LaVie Z super lightweight Ultrabook. As the world’s lightest Ultrabook, the LaVie Z weighs just 875 grams, thanks to its magnesium-lithium alloy chassis. The 13.3-inch Ultrabook is powered by Intel’s Ivy Bridge processor and there are two models. The LZ750/HS sports Core i7-3517U and 256GB SSD, and the LZ550/HS packs Core i5-3317U and 128GB SSD. They both have 4GB of RAM

NEC LaVie Z Ultrabook weighs just 875 grams lid

The LaVie Z gets a 13.3-inch 1600×900 LED-backlit display. It supports Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity and comes with a HD 720p WEBCAM. Its battery allows up to 8.1 hours of use and can be charged to 80% in just an hour.

NEC will release the Ultrabook on 23 August. The LZ750/HS starts at 165,000 Yen, and the LZ550/HS at 135,000.
