Lenovo has launched a new 15.6-inch Ultrabook in the UK, which is the company’s first. The ThinkPad S531 is a Windows 8 notebook housed in aluminum and magnesium alloy chassis. Its single unified hinge allows 180-degree opening so the laptop can lay flat. Lenovo said that the notebook’s backlit keyboard is further enhanced for Windows 8 with multimedia buttons and immediate access to view apps. Of course, the iconic TrackPoint is there along side with a larger TrackPad with 5-point click integration and glass surface.
The new ThinkPad is boosted by intel’s 3rd gen Core Ivy Bridge processor with up to 10GB of RAM and integrated graphics. There is a 500GB hard drive for storage and a 4-in-1 card reader. The 15.6-inch display has Full HD resolution and a ultra-thin bezel. In addition to the two USB 3.0 ports, the Ultrabook supports Lenovo’s OneLink technology for connecting to the ThinkPad OneLink dock for dedicated video, addition USB 3.0 port and Gigabit Ethernet port.
The ThinkPad S531 starts at GBP575. Silver and Gunmetal models are available.
