Asus expands its EeeBox line with the latest EeeBox PC EB1030 nettop. The 1-liter compact PC not just saves your desktop space, but also saves power and saves the earth. According to Asus, it designed to have a recyclability rate of at least 90% and uses only 1/25 of the materials used in a regular desktop PC. The nettop is just 29mm thin and weighs just 690g.
The EeeBox PC EB1030 is powered by Intel’s Cedar Trail Atom D2550 dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM (max 4GB). It can handle Full HD 1080p video playback and offers HDMI and VGA dual video output. The mini PC comes with up to 500GB hard drive and up to 32GB SSD, and has a 4-in-1 card reader. To boost WiFi signal reception, the EB1030 has an external WiFi antenna. There is also a COM port that is commonly used in commercial devices, including barcode scanner, POS machine.
To further save space, you can attach the EeeBox to the back of a monitor or HDTV using the included rotatable VESA mount. It will start at Euro 296.
