Acer is launching in the US market its Aspire Timeline Ultra M5 Ultrabooks. The new stylish M5 is slimmer and lighter than previous generations of Timeline series, measuring just 0.81-inch thin and weighing as little as 4.3 pounds. Other than an utlra-slim profile, Acer’s new Ultrabooks also get a minimalist, modern look. The M5, available in 14-inch and 15.6-inch, is powered by Intel’s 3rd gen Core i3/i5 Ivy Bridge processor and dedicated NVIDIA graphics.
There are three pre-configured models. The 14-inch M5-481TG-6814 and 15.6-inch M5-581TG-6666 are powered by 3rd gen Core i5-3317U processors and NVIDIA GeForce GT640M LE graphics with 1GB of GDDR4 VRAM. They have 4GB and 6GB of DDR3 RAM, respectively. The price is $779.99 for 14-inch model and $829.99 for 15.6-inch. There is also another 14-inch model, the M5-481T-6670 powered by 2nd gen core i3-2377M processor. It gets 6GB of RAM and integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics. The price is $679.99.
The Timeline Ultra M Ultrabooks all come with 1366×768 LED-backlit display. Acer is able to pack a DVD drive, a 500GB and 20GB integrated SSD into the slim body. Other features include two USB 3.0 ports, backlit keyboard, Dolby Home Theater v4, 1.3 Megapixel HD webcam, HDMI port, as well as WiFi connectivity.
