Other than the self-destructing InVincible SSD, RunCore also brings another solution to help protect your important and sensitive data. The company’s new Xapear SSD features RFID protection and supports remote data deletion with SMS message. It comes in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities, and it uses USB interface.
The 1.8-inch Xapear SSD comes with two RFID keys. Users can set a public and a hidden partitions. While public parition works normal, the hidden partition can not be seen by others but RFID key holders. Swipe the key over the Xapear, the hidden parition shows up; it will disappear when you you swipe the key again. Also included is remote data deletion via SMS. The SSD has integrated SIM card and you can pre-define a phone number that can send commands to the drive. Using simple SMS messages, you can overwrite all data in the drive remotely.
The Xapear comes with computer software for drive set-up and RunCore has a mobile application for accessing the drive as well, which is also the reason why SMS remote deletion is needed. A carrying case is also included.
