Along with the 7.2-channel SC-61 and SC-62, Pioneer also introduces three new 9.2-channel Elite AV receivers, SC-65, SC-67 and SC-68. All of them sport Digital Class D3 amplifier to deliver true audio potential of uncompressed sources. The SC-65 offers 130-watt x 9 power output while the other two models provide 140-watt x 9 output. Basically, they include all features of SC-61 and SC-62 and of course add some unique functions.

The SC-65 and SC-67 are certified with THX Select 2 Plus while the SC-68 with THX Ultra 2 Plus; and both the SC-67 and SC-68 with Air Studios Monitor. Like the SC-61 and SC-62, these three models support AirPlay, Bluetooth and DLNA 1.5 for wireless music playback. With Ethernet LAN, they can connect to the Internet and access music services including vTuner Internet radio, PANDOR internet radio and SiriusXM Radio (with paid subscription). The SC-67 also adds capability to play DSD (SACD DFF Files) via front USB connection, and the SC-68 sports the industry’s first 192kHz/32-bit asynchronous USB DAC for ultra-high quality music file playback from a USB connected PC or Mac. A front Mobile High Definition Link (MHL) terminal is also included for you to play audio and video from smartphones or tablet, with support for content with up to 1080p video and 7.1-channel HD audio resolution.

The 3D-ready Elite receivers comes equipped with Marvell Qdeo processing for true 1080p/24fps, Advanced Video Adjust to optimize video signals by the type of display connected, and Stream Smoother to enhance the picture quality of content downloaded from the Internet; and they are built with true 4K pass through makig them ready with future HDTV format. As for audio, they pack TI Aureus digital core DSP engine and support Dolby True HD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Pro-Logic IIz and DTS-HD Master Audio, and feature Advanced MCACC for accurate room calibration, Auto Phase Control Plus for real time phase matching that analyzes the audio input every 30 seconds, PQLS Bit-Stream that eliminates distortion, and Virtual Speaker Modes for simulating sound coming from various areas in a room. They also have pre-amp mode and the SC-65 comes with built-in advanced preamp processors that support the latest surround formats such as DTS Neo:X, sound enhancements, network content and network control.

All three models support Advanced PC Setup that allows installers to pre-configure connection settings on their Windows PC. You can find 7 HDMI input, 1 HDMI output, 2 component video input, 4 composite input, USB port and Ethernet LAN port. The SC-65, SC-67 and SC-68 receivers are priced at $1600, $2000 and $2,500, respectively.
