Western Digital updates its My Passport line of portable hard drive, launching the first ever 2 TB capacity in a portable drive. The new My Passport gets a new enclosure design and is specially-engineered to make the outer shell more resistant to scratches and fingerprints. It comes in white, black, silver, blue and red.
WD’s new My Passport portable drives use USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface for faster transfer rate, and are backwards compatible with USB 2.0. The drives comes with built-in security features of password protection and hardware encryption help protect files from unauthorized use. They are also pre-loaded with automatic, continuous backup software and WD Drive Utilities.
The new Western Digital My Passport is available in 500GB, 750GB, 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB capacities and the prices start at $129.99.
