Toshiba announced the new EXCERIA line of SDHC/SDXC memory cards that offers the world’s fastest transfer rates at up to 95MB/s. Toshiba’s new SD cards are fully compliant with the SD Memory Card Standard Ver.3.0 UHS-I and their minimum recording speed is compliant with UHS speed class 1 and SD speed class 10.
Three series of EXCERIA will be released. The Type 1 is equipped with new controllers and provides the world’s fastest data transfers, with a maximum read speed of 95MB/s and a write speed of 90MB/s. The Type 2 offers maximum 95MB/s read and 60MB/s write speeds, while the Type HD has 90MB/s read and 30MB/s write. Both Type 1 and Type HD will be available in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB capacities with FAT32 file format and the Type 2 supports exFAT and FAT32 format with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities.
Toshiba will first release the Type HD in April/May, then Type 1 in July, followed by Type 2 in August.
