We have probably missed out SanDisk’s X100 series solid state drive when we report the launch of the company’s Extreme series. Intended for client computing markets, the X100 is available in a variety of form factors, including 2.5-inch with 7mm or 9.5mm height, mSATA and customized thin form factor for ultra slim notebooks.
The X100 is based on MLC NAND Flash and uses SATA III 6Gbps interface for enhanced performance. It offers up to 500MB/s read and 420MB/s write performance, allowing a user to copy a 4GB HD movie in less than 10 seconds. The X100 is available in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, and 512 GB capacities and SanDisk offers a wide variety of configuration options, including standalone and dual drive caching solutions.
