Olympus’ TOUGH TG-820 is the latest addition to the TOUGH line, which sets a new benchmark for Waterproof, Shockproof, Freezeproof, Crushproof and Dustproof performance. Intended to deliver superb image quality even in extreme environments, the TG-10 iHS includes the new iHS (Intelligent, High-Sensitivity and High-Speed) family of technologies. The camera is waterproof to 33 feet, shockproof to 6.6 feet, freezeproof to 14 °F and even Crushproof to a weight of 220 pounds, and dustproof.
The all-proof rugged camera sports a 12 Megapixel Back Side Illuminated (BSI) CMOS image sensor and TruePic VI image processor for improved low-light performance and faster camera response time. Equipped with a 5x optical zoom 24mm wide angle lens, the TG-820 iHS offers 10x Super-Resolution Zoom for you to get closer to your subjects without compromising image quality. It supports 5fps High-Speed burst shooting at 5fps. It includes sensor-shift image stabilization and high ISO sensitivity for clear images and includes the Multi-Motion Movie IS (Image Stabilization) for you to record virtually blur-free videos even when you’re moving.
The TG-820 iHS also features HDR Backlight Adjustment that takes a collage of separate photos and blends them into one perfectly exposed image regardless of difficult lighting; enhanced Intelligent Auto that detects the scene automatically; Beauty Mode with Make up to soften shadows and smooth wrinkles and blemishes on your subject’s face, 3D image capture mode, and Magic Art Filters for adding creative touches to images and video.
The Olympus TG-820 comes with a 3-inch HyperCrystal III LCD display and offers HDMI output for showing images and videos on HDTV. Coming in March, the camera will come in silver, black and blue for $299.99.
