Motorola Solutions, not to be confused with Motorola Mobility, announced the ET1 enterprise tablet computer focused on retail with functionality to enhance the shopping experience. The new tablet runs enterprise-ready hardened version of the Android 2.3.4 OS, and is designed to be used 24 x 7 by multiple staff members.
The ET1 is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB internal storage. It sports a 7-inch 1024×600 touchscreen with Gorilla Glass, a 8 Megapixel main camera for image capture and barcode scanning, and 720p video recording, a front camera optimized for video collaboration, Bluetooth, GPS and WiFi connectivity. It has a microSD/SDHC card slot. The enterprise tablet comes with user replaceable 4620mAh rechargeable battery for extended usage. It even has memory back-up battery to retain RAM data for up to 15 minutes when the main battery is removed.
The Motorola ET1 will be released in Q4.
