Kingston announced the SSDNow KC100, the company’s first SATA III 6Gbps SSD. The business-equipped SSD is powered by SandForce controller and offers enterprise-level S.M.A.R.T attributes for monitoring the drive’s usage statistics, health and life stage. The KC100 comes with two embedded encryption engines, running in both AES-128 and AES-256, for hardware-based data encryption.
The 2.5-inch SSDNow KC100 is available in 120GB, 240GB and 480GB capacities. Using SATA III interface, the SSD offers up to 555MB/s read and 510MB/s write speeds. The drive is also backward compatible with SATA I/II interface. The KC100 is available standalone or with an upgrade kit.
