Pentax launches a new compact ultra zoom digital camera, the Optio RZ18 with a powerful 18x optical zoom lens covering focal lengths from 25mm wide angle to 450mm super-telephoto (in the 35mm format). The 16 Megapixel camera comes with a large 3-inch HVGA LCD display.
The new RZ18 features sensor-shift Shake Reduction (SR) mechanism and Pixel Track SR to reduce camera shake to a minimum for more blur-free images even under shake-prone shooting conditions. It includes Auto Picture mode, scene modes as well as creative special-effects filters. You can also find advanced 9-point auto focuces with a 4cm super macro mode, face detection and dedicated pet recognition.
The Optio RZ18 records 720p HD video at 30fps. It will be available in October for $299.95 in black, peral white and metallic orange.
