Pentax has announced its new Q7 super compact interchangeable lens mirrorless camera. Successor to last year’s Q10, the new model gets a bigger sensor and improved image processing engine. Like Pentax’s K-50, the Q7 is also available for customize in 120 eye-catching color combinations via the company’s Color to Order System. The super compact shooter weighs just 7oz that is easily pocketable.
The Q7 sports a bigger 1/1.7-inch back-illuminated CMOS image sensor with a high sensitivity of up to ISO 12,800, and enhnaced Q Engine high-speed image processor. The camera is capable of 5fps high-speed shooting and HDR capture. It also features in-body sensor-shift shake reduction mechanism, built-in popup flash, a customized Quick Dial and unique bokeh control function that allows users to make the subject stand out easily. To help users capture good shots, it includes Auto Picture Mode and 21 Scene modes. There are also 19 digital filters and Smart Effects for you to personalized images.
The Q7 supports Full HD 1080p video recording and provides HDMI output. It gets a 3-inch LCD display and supports SD/SDHC/SDXC cards for storage. The Q7 is available as kit with a Q-mount 02 zoom lens for $499.95.
