Nikon is launching a new compact digital camera, the CoolPix S100 with a refined design and advanced functions. The S100, successor to the S80, comes with a 3.5-inch OLED touchscreen with wide viewing angle and easy operation. Thanks to slim, right-angle optics zoom lens, the camera is so slim at just 18.1mm. It is equipped with EXPEED C2 image processing engine.
The CoolPix S100 sports a 16 Megapixel backside illumination CMOS image sensor and a 5x optical zoom NIKKOR zoom lens with 28mm wide angle. It features ISO up to 3200, Smart Portrait system, Filter effects, 20 optimized scene modes and subject tracking functions. The camera includes also 3D photography function for taking 3D images that can be viewed in 3D by connecting a 3D-compatible HDMI cable to the camera and a 3D TV.
The new compact CoolPix supports Full HD 1080p video recording with stereo sound and offers HDMI output. It will come in red, black, pink, gold, silver and purples colors and will be released in mid-September 2011 for $299.95.
