Other World Computing (OWC) introduces the Mercury Electra 6G solid state drive supporting the SATA 6Gbps interface for enhanced transfer speeds. Utilizing the SandForce SF2281 controller, the new drive uses Asynchronous Tier 1/Grade A 2X-nm NAND Flash memory. It offers up to 556MB/s read and 523MB/s write speeds, using SATA III 6Gbps interface and up to 60,000 Random 4KB IOPS.
The Mercury Electra 6G includes chip-based 256-bit and 128-bit AES-compliant data encryption. You can expect also SMART Command support and ECC Recovery as well as SandForce’s DuraClass technology with ultra-efficient Block Management and Wear Leveling offering highest endurance and performance.
