OCZ Technology announced the Talos series Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) SSDs designed for enterprise applications. Based on MLC NAND flash, the Talos is an ultra-fast, high-capacity solution with Virtualized Controller Architecture (VCA) technology, which provides customers with robust enterprise features including TRIM (SCSI unmap with SAS drives), SMART monitoring, native command queuing (NCQ), tagged command queuing (TCQ), power fail management, and wear-leveling; all within a single streamlined solution.
There are Talos C and Talos R models, which are available in 230GB, 480GB, 960GB and 200GB, 400GB, 800GB capacities, respectively. They use Dual-Port Serial Attached SCSI 6Gbps interface and offer up to up to 30,000 random write IOPS, 530MB/s read and 340MB/s write speeds. Both Talos C and Talos R include Data Encryption and ECC Recovery, while the latter adds power loss data protection.
