Asus introduces a USB 3.0 external Blu-ray burner, the BW-12D1S-U with up to 12x Blu-ray writing speed. The burner uses USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface to double transmission speed compared with USB 2.0 and uses OTS technology to deliver 12x Blu-ray burning speed. It includes support for Blu-ray 3D technology.
The Asus BW-12D1S-U has a diamond-shaped design and a space-saving design that can be placed either horizontally or vertically with a detachable stand. It writes BD-R at 12x, BD-R DL at 8x, BD-RE/RE DL at 2x as well as DVD+/-R at 16x, DVD+RW at 8x, DVD-RW at 6x, DVD+/-R DL at 8x and CD-R/RW at up to 40x. The burner has 4MB buffer memory.
The Asus BW-12D1S-U USB 3.0 Blu-ray burner comes with Cyberlink Power2Go 7, InstantBurn 5 burning software and PowerDVD with Magic Cinema for Blu-ray/3D playback.
