Plextor has launched its M2 series 2.5-inch solid state drive in the US market, which is basically the same as the Europe version M2S series we saw few days back. The M2 series utilizes a Marvell 88SS9174 controller and has 128MB DDR3 cache buffer for faster response time. It is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities and uses SATA II interface.
Plextor’s M2 series offers up to 480MB/s read and 330MB/s write speeds. It supports Windows 7 TRIM command and includes Plextor’s Instant Restore technology and Dynamic Wear Leveling algorithm for more efficient performance. The price is $179.99 for 64GB, $329.99 for 128GB and $699.99 for 256GB.
