Kingston launches its new SSDNow V100 affordable consumer solid state drive, the latest in the company’s SSDNow family. The new V100 series use 2.5-inch form factor and SATA 1.5Gbps/3Gbps interface. It is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage capacities and provides up to 250MB/s read speeds, and up to 230MB/s write speeds (145MB write for 64GB model).
Kingston’s SSDNow V100 supports Windows 7 TRIM command. It is available either standalone or as an upgrade bundle kit that includes the SSD, cloning software, cables (SATA data and power), and 3.5″ hard-drive mounting brackets and hardware. Designed for mainstream consumers as the cost-effective upgrade, the V100 line starts at $119.
