Toshiba announced a new small form factor hard drive, the automotive-grade MK2060GSC with 200GB capacity in a single-platter design. As the highest-capacity automotive-grade drive, the MK2060GSC operates at 4200RPM and enables “carmakers and aftermarket vendors to deliver an improved in-vehicle user experience, while enhancing driver safety.”
The Toshiba MK2060GSC use SATA 2.6 inteface with 1.5Gb/s transfer rate. It is able to withstand altitude variations of -300 to 12,000 meters during non-operating and -300 to 5,650 meters while operating, as well as operating temperatures of -30 to +85-degree C. Toshiba also brings the 100GB model, the MK1060GSC.
