German company Neofonie announced its WePad, a slate tablet device powered by Atom platform. The WePad features a 11.6-inch multitouch display with 1366×768 resolution and it runs the Linux-based WePad OS with support for Java, Flash and Adobe AIR.
The WePad sports an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor and gets 16GB/32GB storage. It comes with a 1.3 Megapixel webcam, a card reader and a SD/SDHC expansion slot. Two models will be released, the 16GB WePad priced at Euro 499 and the Euro 569 WePad 3G with 32GB, GPS and 3G connectivity. Both of them support Bluetooth and WiFi.
The WePad is housed in a magnesium-aluminum case and weighs just 800g.
