Toshiba announced two additions to its 5,400 RPM line of 2.5-inch hard drives, including the 9.5mm high MK7559GSXP with two-platter design and the 12.5mm high MKxx59GSM series with a new three-platter design.
The Toshiba MK7559GSXP is available in 750GB capacity while the MKxx59GSM series comes in 750GB (MK7559GSM) and 1TB (MK1059GSM) densities. These 2.5-inch hard drives use SATA 3Gb/s interface and have 5400RPM rotational speed and 8MB buffer memory.
The Toshiba MK7559GSXP and MKxx59GSM series will be released in Q2 and Q3 2010 respectively.
