WD announced the new SiliconEdge Blue series MLC-based solid state drive (SSD) complementing the SLC-based SiliconDrive N1x. The 2.5-inch SSD uses SATA 3Gb/s interface and features read speeds up to 250MB/s and write speed to up to 170MB/s.
The SiliconEdge Blue offers maximum tolerance for drops, shock and vibration along with silent and low-power operation and comes with TRIM and NCQ (Native Command Queuing) command support. It is available in 64GB (model SSC-D0064SC-2100), 128GB (model SSC-D0128SC-2100) and 256GB (SSC-D0256SC-2100) capacities, which are priced at $279.00, $529.00 and $999.00 respectively.
